What to look for in a Quakertown Pediatrician?
Over the past 50-plus years of practice, we have learned quite a bit about what Bucks County parents are looking for in a pediatrician. Our entire staff listens closely during patient and parent interactions to ensure that we understand what is most important to the families we serve. This allows us to make timely updates that are in line with the needs in our community while continuing to deliver excellent care to every patient.
Many parents looking for a pediatrician in Quakertown have similar questions about what they can expect from their pediatric provider.
Are you accepting patients?
Pennridge Pediatrics is always accepting new patients. We even schedule prenatal visits for expecting parents or families new to our practice. We treat infants, children, adolescents, and even young adults through their 22nd birthday. Patients are welcome to visit us at either one of our locations in Sellersville or Harleysville.
Can I call the office with questions?
We offer a Call Hour every day for parents to speak with a clinician about their child’s symptoms or any health concerns. The Call Hour is available from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM every day of the year, including Sundays and holidays, at our Sellersville phone number (215) 257-2727. The Call Hour is available 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Monday through Friday at our Harleysville phone number (215) 256-1999. Outside of the Call Hour, we will respond to messages as quickly as possible.
Can I get same day appointments?
We know that flexibility of scheduling is a priority for parents. Both of our locations offer evening hours several days a week, and our Sellersville office schedules Saturday appointments for both well and sick visits. Additionally, a doctor is always on call for emergencies after hours. Same-day sick appointments are always available as well as early in the morning the next day. Appointments can be made over the phone and all patients can be seen at either office for any type of appointment.
Do you provide a full range of pediatric care?
Parents rely on our physicians, nurses, and clinicians to support them with a continuous level of care. Pediatrics involves a wide range of services that are responsive to a given child’s immediate or expected circumstances. Parents and children benefit from being able to come to a familiar and comfortable office for many different types of care, including:
- School and sports physicals
- Vaccinations and immunizations
- Vision and hearing screenings
- Mental health management
- Lab testing
- Nutritional guidance and weight management
- Asthma management
- Minor surgical procedures
- And more
Do you accept insurance?
We participate with most insurance carriers, including Keystone First Medicaid. Parents are encouraged to call our office to review their pediatric insurance coverage. Our friendly staff will go over fees, co-pays, referral requirements, and coverage exclusions. Insurance clerks are also available to help parents respond to denied claims and insurance follow up inquiries. For fees that are the patient’s responsibility, we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
Can I visit before I schedule an appointment?
We offer a complimentary appointment to parents of prospective new patients. This includes a prenatal visit, pre-adoption visit, or a visit for any parent who is looking for a pediatric practice near Quakertown. During this visit, parents will learn about our practice, meet one or more of our physicians, and learn what to expect regarding their child’s care. For prenatal appointments, we will give an overview of an infant’s first year of care and beyond.

Pediatricians Promote Ongoing Health for Children
Pennridge Pediatrics is committed to helping children reach their full potential. This occurs through providing a continuous standard of care that promotes healthy habits, addresses chronic and acute conditions, and maintains a high level of communication with parents. We believe in a proactive approach to healthcare that addresses each child’s individual needs.
Our doctors are qualified professionals with extensive experience in many health conditions, illnesses, and disorders that impact pediatric patients. We are sensitive to parental concerns, especially regarding medically complex issues that require additional care or attention. We work with parents to keep them informed and to support each child’s healthy growth and development.
Preventative Care
Preventative care promotes a child’s overall wellness. We schedule well-child exams from birth through age 22 and encourage patients to schedule these on an annual basis. We also provide physicals for sports, school enrollment, and surgical procedures. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule for vaccinations and immunizations. We ask that parents who have concerns about vaccinations always call our office to go over their questions with our staff.
Diagnostic Care and Treatment
When a child is sick, injured, or dealing with a chronic health issue, being able to see their familiar doctor can go a long way in reducing their discomfort. Our practice performs minor surgical procedures to treat skin and toenail infections, wart removal, stitches, and minor fractures. Parents are often relieved to know that they can bring their child to our office rather than wait at urgent care or the emergency room. We also provide referrals to specialists when a diagnosis indicates that need. When children are receiving care from a specialist, our office still assists with managing ongoing needs and supporting parents with information.
